Okay so I have never bought a YouTuber makeup collaboration before and I have never tried anything from Ciaté London. I’m guessing many beauty lovers get a little obsessed with getting all the latest palettes, but that’s not something that appeals to me, since I’ve only got two eyes, only use cruelty free products and the majority of my eyeshadows are more natural formulations.
But when I saw Chloe Morello introduce this Beauty Haul Volume II on YouTube, something about the palette especially just spoke to me. I enjoy watching Chloe’s channel, she has a certain honesty and I find her tutorials and tips helpful, particularly because she too has a more oily skin.
So enough backstory, let’s get onto the products…
This is the Beauty Haul Volume II packaging. Inside you get Chloe’s Pretty, Fun & Fearless Palette Vol II as well as a mascara, felt liner and lip product. I got mine off Asos and it was £45 with free shipping. Ciaté is a Peta certified cruelty free brand.
This is the packaging for the palette. It is travel friendly and nice and slim.
These are the 20 beautiful eyeshadow shades!
I like how the pans are not huge because I don’t often hit pan. The eyeshadows are all nice and smooth and all swatch evenly. The quality I find is very good for the price. The colours I think are a beautiful combination and I love how there’s a bit of everything. You really can get a lot of different looks out of this palette. There are 3 beautiful matte transition shades (a warm, a neutral and a cool), a perfect matte soft white shade, as well as 3 darker matte shades. The rest have a shimmery finish but lovely and smooth and not chunky or glittery. The pigments are even across the palette but not crazily pigmented, although buildable. I think this is fantastic for beginners (me!) and everyday use, especially when you want to incorporate some of the fun colours and still have it wearable.
Because of the formulas and the buildable pigmentation, I think this palette will suit younger and more mature eye areas. I’m 36 and I have been reaching for this palette daily! The shadows are not all natural and the palette is not vegan, however they don’t contain parabens, paraffin or petrolatum.
This is a mini of the Ciaté Wonderwand Mascara. Again this is a fairly good formula ingredients wise. It’s paraben free, gluten free and vegan. The wand is the bristle style but fatter at each end and very dense. It does a great job of coating all lashes, volumising, lengthening and curling. Because it’s so dense it does not easily go between the lashes and on the lid when applying, which is a plus! It wears really well, and does not smudge or flake. I would definitely purchase this mascara again.
This is the Fierce Flicks Felt Tip Liner. It’s also vegan, paraben free and gluten free. It’s a really nice fine felt tip liner and the formula is super black and has a smooth consistency and even pigmentation. I’m terrible at winged liner because I have hooded eyelids but it’s not going to stop me practising as I think this liner is easy to use than many I have tried.
The final product in the haul is a mini Liquid Velvet Lip Slick in a limited edition shade ‘Sydney’, which is currently available only in this set. I’m not a fan of liquid lipsticks that dry down completely and so I’m glad this one doesn’t. Perfect neutral peachy pink nude. Again it’s vegan, gluten and paraben free and a lovely way to round off the Beauty Haul Volume II.
So, my overall thoughts? I really like this and I’m glad I got it. I think Chloe & Ciaté did a great job on this collab. I think it is great quality and value for the pricepoint… come on you get a palette and three more products! I think it would make a fantastic Christmas gift for the cruelty free beauty lover or any beauty lover for that matter. Based on this collaboration I would try other Ciaté products and I would be interested in Chloe Morello’s future collabs.
Have you tried the Beauty Haul Volume II? Should I try the Volume I palette Chloe did? What are your favourite products from Ciaté London?
