The May Petit Vour Beauty Box

I’m always so excited when I get an email from Petit Vour to say my Beauty Box has shipped! It comes all of the way from Dallas, Texas and is usually with me in little over a week. How cool is that?

So I’ve been getting this Vegan & Cruelty Free subscription since February this year, and I’m loving it. I’m able to try some brands that I can’t otherwise order in the UK. Especially exciting for me have been makeup items from Red Apple Lipstick, Elate Cosmetics and Juice Beauty! And all for $25 a month (about Β£18) shipped, and no taxes.

So let’s get into what was in the box for May and my initial impressions and thoughts.

The first full size product in the box is makeup and from a brand I can’t get hold of here in the UK. This is the Au Naturale Color Theory Creme Corrector (worth $24) I received the shade Flax, a pale yellow. Yellow is said to be best for correcting blue and purple veins and for concealing dark circles, brightening the complexion. I’ve never used a colour corrector before and usually just use concealer. I didn’t think it would make much of a difference, so boy was I surprised. I noticed a huge difference on my dark circles, and required virtually no concealing after applying this. It also did a decent job cancelling out the veins on my eyelids. The product comes in a twist up packaging and is a firm consistency. It is too firm to draw on my eye area without tugging so I warm the stick up with my finger and dab where required before blending out with a brush. It blends out well and does not look like there is product under the eye, which is something I worried would occur with an extra layer of product before concealer. My eyes look awake and fresh all day and I’m using this daily.

The second full size product is this here Reparative Cuticle Oil by Lauren B Beauty. It’s so sweetly packaged and contains lovely ingredients: ylang ylang, lavender, rosemary, safflower, avocado, sweet almond, olive fruit oil and rice bran extract. It’s an effective treatment and took care of my cuticles from the first go. And the squeezy dropper is really easy to use plus it doesn’t leak, great for on the go! And it’s worth $22. Win!

This little cutie is a deluxe sample of the EIR NYC Sunset Oil. With aloe, arnica, calendula and chamomile amongst others, this body oil is formulated in particular for use post sun exposure. I haven’t used it as such yet, but I’ve used it after bathing and it’s very nice, light and easily absorbed. I have also massaged it into my hands and feet which are the only areas on my body that the skin gets very dry, and it was really soothing. It smells really good and herbal too, which I love. Really nice to try this sample and it has a value of $7.

Last but not least is the Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask + Scrub by Zabana Essentials. It’s a deluxe sample size and worth $12.50. I haven’t opened this yet as it seems like there will be a few uses and I’m not sure if it will dry out. I might save for when some friends come over or might use all in one go as a body scrub and mask too. It says it’s for dry skin, which I only get on hands and feet. Ooh actually it might make a really lovely foot treat! We shall see!

So the total value of the box was $63.50 (if my mental arithmetic is correct), which is amazing. I’m really happy with the selection of products and brands and Petit Vour is doing such a sterling job curating these boxes! That’s all for now folks. Next post on my blog will be a Current Favourites post, so watch out for that good stuff! You can find previous month’s Petit Vour unboxings on my main blog page, and I will absolutely be sharing June’s box with you at the end of June. Till next time, take care!
